The "Central Brain" is Online: LEAP-One Integrates High-Performance Computational Unit
LEAP-One now carries a compact high-performance computer with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 for autonomy, perception, and mission data.
Schmalkalden, Germany — The HSM Aries.space Systems Department has integrated an ASUS ROG NUC 15 Tall as LEAP-One’s central computational unit.
Desktop-class processing in the rover
The published configuration combines an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, 32 GB of memory, a 2 TB NVMe SSD, and Intel Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.
Built for perception and autonomy
The GPU gives the rover parallel processing capacity for computer vision and SLAM. The team plans to use the platform to build high-fidelity 3D maps, identify targets of scientific interest, navigate difficult terrain, and log mission data at high frequency.
