In a major milestone for student-led space innovation, the HSMaries.space team is proud to announce the completion of the base design for LEAP-One, the flagship rover in our LEAP Series. This achievement lays a robust foundation for integrating cutting-edge technologies essential for successful planetary exploration.

The newly finalized base design features a modular chassis engineered for rugged terrain, an energy-efficient power management system, and optimized interfaces for future payloads. By focusing on durability, adaptability, and simplicity, the design ensures that LEAP-One can efficiently support advanced navigation, autonomous operations, and sample collection missions.

“Completing the base design is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our student engineers and mentors,” said Teja. “This milestone not only validates our innovative approach but also sets the stage for the next phases of subsystem integration, prototyping, and rigorous testing.”

As a subsidiary of Hochschule Schmalkalden, HSMaries.space continues to foster a collaborative environment where interdisciplinary teams come together to solve real-world aerospace challenges. With the base design complete, the team is now preparing to integrate advanced sensor arrays, drive systems, and communication modules to ensure LEAP-One meets the demanding requirements of ERC 2025.

Stay tuned for further updates as LEAP-One moves from design to prototyping, bringing us one step closer to redefining the future of student-driven space exploration.
